You’ve given us another reason to celebrate—to believe eradicating human trafficking is possible.

Nick & Christine Caine

What started with a “Missing Persons” poster in an airport in Greece has grown into a global movement to end human trafficking, something we never imagined when we set out to address this issue in 2008.

At the time, there were few countries with coordinated efforts to combat human trafficking. But every year, we’re building momentum thanks to our community of supporters and growing network of local and global partners. The remarkable progress we made in 2023 is because of people like you who have come alongside A21 to fight for freedom in your cities, schools, and communities.

When we work together, the impact is so much greater. More vulnerable people are being informed and protected. More victims are identified and assisted to safety. More traffickers are being convicted. And more survivors are receiving personalized support on their journey to restoration and independence.

In 2023, we celebrated 15 years since A21’s work began in Greece, where we assisted our very first survivor of human trafficking.  Supporters and partners around the globe joined us throughout the year to celebrate the freedom they’ve made possible through their advocacy and generosity.

Together, we’ve—

  • Reached billions of people with awareness, prevention, and education
  • Trained and equipped more than 35,000 frontline professionals
  • Identified and assisted thousands of victims out of exploitation
  • Prosecuted 229 traffickers to a collective 3,867 years in prison and $3.6M+ in fines
  • Provided holistic aftercare to nearly 2,000 of survivors of human trafficking
  • Launched 4 Human Trafficking Hotlines, receiving more than 65,000 calls

Thank you for making these milestones possible and bringing us closer to our goal to end human trafficking.

You’ll notice a theme of partnership woven throughout this year’s report, as it’s a driving force behind everything we do here at A21 and the reason we continue to break records year after year. And it all starts with you—your decision to partner with us to abolish slavery everywhere, forever.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Let’s celebrate the incredible strides you made possible in 2023.
