Additional Information
Want to take a stand against slavery? Join us on Oct 20 for A21's 5th annual (Lakeland' 2nd) #WalkForFreedom. Florida is third in the nation as a human trafficking destination and the #WalkForFreedomLakeland will shake the very foundation of slavery not only in our city, but across the globe. We will be walking with thousands of others all the way from Paris to California and Miami to Jacksonville! ROUTE: We will begin and end our route in the Town Center Plaza parking lot (917 E Memorial Blvd), turning around just past Lakeland Regional Hospital (100 W 10th St). We will be utilizing the sidewalks & crosswalks, obeying the traffic signals and pausing when traffic signals change (will explain on day of and email detailed instructions prior to event). We will be walking about 3 miles total, view map on @WalkForFreedomLakeland Facebook page. WHAT TO WEAR: Wear your A21 shirt and black pants/shorts/skirt. Wearing black is KEY for this event. It is important we look uniform with the other walks that will be talking place all over the world. So when in doubt, wear black, black, black.Wear sunglasses/black hat (whatever your preferred sun protection is), sunscreen and comfy walking shoes! WHAT TO BRING: Bring water to remain hydrated and bring everyone you know! Human trafficking is the third highest ranking (and rising) crime in the world. The more that show to walk in the #WFFL, the higher the awareness is and the more human trafficking is prevented. See you there!
