A21 Volunteers are individuals who live near the A21 office and are able to commit 8 hours a week on an ongoing basis, ideally for a minimum of approximately six months. Applications for our Sydney office are open year-round and successful candidates are able to commence their volunteer term with A21 at any time. Volunteers get an up-close and personal experience of what it takes to work for a global NGO and are empowered to bring their skills and talents to the table. Volunteers are able to apply for any of the roles listed below under “Specific Volunteer Opportunities”, or choose to work closely with our A21 Team in any of the following areas, based on skill and the needs of our office:
A21 Australia is currently looking to increase our reach and impact in the corporate space. We are looking for a volunteer passionate about connecting business to social justice and who is interested in assisting our team to outwork new strategies and initiatives in this area.
Media provides a unique opportunity to spread the message of freedom through various channels, such as radio, social media, print media and television. Our Marketing and Fundraising Volunteers assist A21 Australia in maximising our impact through such avenues. Particular focus is given to increase awareness around our mobilisation strategies and campaigns such as Walk For Freedom.
Mobilisation Volunteers have a strong focus on our mobilisation initiatives, such as Walk For Freedom, A-Teams and our Human Trafficking Awareness Program. Coming alongside our A21 Team to make Walk For Freedom a reality, supporting our A-Team Members and those partnering with A21 through education are just some of the areas Mobilisation Volunteers can be involved with during their time at A21.
An integral part of our team, A21 Office Assistant Volunteers commit to an increased level of involvement of 3-4 days per week for a term of 3 months. Involved in various areas during their time with us, Office Assistants are encouraged to use their individual skills and passion to make a difference, whilst learning more broadly about the issue of human trafficking and the various ways that A21 is combatting this through our 3R Strategy. Each Office Assistant is allocated a focus area during their time with us, dependent on their passion and the need of our office, whilst also getting to engage with various other areas of responsibility throughout their volunteer term.
At A21 we are passionate about empowering young people to make a difference. Connecting the mission of A21 to this next generation of abolitionists, our Student Program Volunteers carry this same heart and support our A21 team in outworking our National Student Program which is run across Australia and catered to High School Students, as well as our newly introduced Primary Awareness Program and University Program.
